Confused on this question?
"How many plots owned & how many interments per space"
Explanation:
Understanding Plots and Interments
When we meet for your monument consultation, we will ask a couple of questions about the burial space at the cemetery. Many families aren’t familiar with these terms, and that’s completely okay — we’re happy to guide you through it.
These questions simply help us design a monument that fits properly and allows space for future inscriptions if needed.
1. How Many Plots Do You Own?
A plot is the individual burial space in the cemetery.
Some families own one plot, while others own multiple plots side-by-side. The number of plots helps determine the size and placement of the monument.
2. How Many Interments Per Plot?
An interment refers to a person being placed in a burial space.
Sometimes there is one interment per plot, but in many cemeteries there can be multiple interments within the same space.
This can happen in several ways:
-
Single burial (one burial in the plot)
-
Double depth burial (two burials stacked vertically)

Don’t Worry if You’re Unsure
Many families are not certain about the details of their plots, and that’s perfectly normal.
If you’re unsure, we can help during an appointment by:
-
Reviewing cemetery paperwork
-
Contacting the cemetery office
-
Guiding you through the options
Our goal is simply to make sure the monument is designed correctly for your space and your family’s wishes.
